Hawaii Spearfishing Retreat/Class
The Oregon Freediving Company is happy to host three days of diving and spearing the Big Island Coast. Join PFI Advanced Instructor Trainer and shop owner Dan Semrad for three days of spearfishing instruction, diving, harvesting, and telling fish stories.
When: 8/15 - 17
Where: Waikoloa, HI
What: -Spearfishing instruction
-Guided spearfishing (all 3 days conditions permitting)
-Fish filet and packing instruction
-Fish cook off (come ready with your favorite recipes, win prizes)
-Certification (PFI Reef Spearfishing and Collecting)
Daily Schedule:
Everyday will start with education on target species for the day along with associated techniques for harvest. Site specific hazards and techniques will be discussed during our briefings.
1-2 spearfishing sessions/day followed by processing and preserving our catch, Gyotaku fish prints, and debriefing our day.
Is this course for you?
-Having a freediving certification is a prerequisite for this course.
-We will be diving no deeper than your certification level, focusing on hunting in the 10-20m range.
-You will need your Hawaii Fishing License.
